PCAWL Rescue Stories: Tess (Renamed Zoe)

Tess is an adorable shepherd mix puppy that was found by an area citizen wondering along a very busy highway in Rolla. This wonderful citizen stopped and picked up the tiny baby and took her home. She was unable to keep the puppy and tried to ask friends and neighbors for help. Everyone was full up with pets and they did not have the finances needed to care for her properly.

This wonderful young lady scraped together all the change that she had to her name and came to a pcawl volunteer to ask for help. With tears in her eyes the young lady told the story of how and where she found this baby puppy and that she wanted to but could not afford to keep her. She offered the volunteer all the money she had if pcawl would please take the baby puppy and find her a great home. After a few hugs and a pat to this tiny puppies head, our pcawl volunteer said yes she would indeed take the puppy she dubbed "Tess" and find her a home, but refused the kind offer of money, telling the young lady instead to keep it for herself and not to worry.

Well indeed after a very short time, the perfect home did in fact come along for Tess. A wonderful young woman named Kate was looking for a companion for her current lab mix and herself to go on long walks together and to be buddies. Tess, now Zoe, found her new and loving home, thanks to a concerned citizen who did a very caring thing that cold and wintry day. Simply stopping to help an animal in need.
