PCAWL Rescue Stories: Rosco

rosco at shelter

Little Rosco was either lost or abandoned and soon found himself in the quarantine section of the Animal Shelter because he was coughing. Kennel Cough is a dread thing in an animal shelter with no resources for longterm treatment, nor room to spare for sick animals. Rosco was in a dire situation, he was to be held only long enough for his family to come claim him. If they didn't come, he was doomed--and they didn't come.

The Animal Control officer came to his rescue though by asking PCAWL members to take Rosco, and, at the last moment he was taken from the shelter alive. He went to Rolla Animal Hospital for a check up and treatment if needed. His heartworm test was negative, he had no fever and his cough rosco and kittensvanished as he warmed up. His biggest problems were stress and low tolerance for the cold weather, so he went home with a PCAWL foster family. The little guy soon picked his spot in front of the fire and settled in with the cats in his foster home.

About a week later, his foster mom took him to visit Renee who was interested in offering Rosco a forever home. It was a very good thing Renee liked Rosco because Rosco instantly decided he was staying right there with her. When she sat down on the couch, he lost no time snuggling right up to her. Rosco found his forever home and wasn't about to be pried back out of it!
