PCAWL Rescue Stories: Pearl

Little Pearl's tale was very nearly as short as her tail...and since she is a Manx, that was short indeed. She was abandoned outside, probably because she had diarrhea and couldn't help being messy. She didn't do well in the Shelter and she was slated to die as soon as the 'hold' period was up. (stray animals must be held for 5 days to give their people a chance to find them).

The PCAWL volunteer just couldn't let that happen, so Pearl went to the vet for a checkup and medication instead of to die. She had nasty worms in addition to bacterial problems, so a course of Panacur was prescribed. Pearl was soon MUCH better and after a stay in quarantine, joined the other foster kitten, Cocoa Bean and a short while later, a new foster kitten named Jet. The three kittens had a wonderful time playing and Pearl wasn't really certain she wanted to move on to a forever home.

Foster mom said no to a few applicants, but then a very nice home came along. Foster mom believes Pearl and her new forever family will have a long and happy tale!
