PCAWL Rescue Stories: Oz
Oz was one of those sweet little dogs who is considered ugly by many, some say so ugly he is cute! The animals that come into our local shelter do not get any vet care or grooming, they do get their very basic needs met and that is certainly a start from where some of these animals come from. PCAWL volunteers do go in occasionally to do simple bathing, etc. to help animals find forever homes.
Oz has that wirey coat that was plastered down, he was not the most adoptable looking little fellow, but calm and sweet he was! They all deserve a chance and normally small dogs get adopted quickly at the shelter, not so for the little boy we dubbed Oz. He appeared to be an Affenpinscher perhaps Griffon Mix, hard to tell. Either way, he was thrilled to get out of the shelter, get the needed vet care and look for a new family.
His ads were posted and in one days time, many
inquiries were flowing in who wanted this sweet little
dog. A family was chosen and Oz was taken to visit
them, he quickly settled in and with one
look told us
that he had made it home. Oz has a family that loves
him just for who he is, isn't that what everyone wants after all!
