PCAWL Rescue Stories: Moses
Moses was one lucky dog to find his way into the hands of caring people. He was found by a concerned citizen running stray with a collar deeply embedded into his neck and a chain left dangling and broken. Obviously he had escaped the hands of someone who cared little about this sweet, black lab.
He was quickly taken to a local area vet where his embedded collar was removed and his neck was stitched back up. No owner came forward to look for him and it is a good thing as photos were taken of his neck and charges could have been filed against them for animal abuse. It would have been good to know who he escaped from but either way, he was now in safe hands and that is what mattered for him.
After
all he had been through he remained gentle and happy
like the typical labs that we know. After some healing
time was allowed, Moses was put up for adoption. The Rolla Daily News kindly agreed to run a story about him. Many
generous animal lovers quickly called to see if they could be the ones
to adopt this dog who had gone through so much. He
found his new family. Life on a chain for him has
finally ended, he is now able to be a family member
and spend time running free of chains and playing.
Finally free at last!
