PCAWL Rescue Stories: Honey
Honey is a half-grown pup, full of energy and enthusiasm, but she had
the misfortune to have been taken home by someone only interested in
cute little puppies. So Honey and her siblings were left at the Animal Shelter when they were older and out of the cute puppy stage, and therefore less adoptable. Some of the others were lucky enough to
be taken into new families, but Honey's time ran out.
A brand-new foster home for PCAWL agreed to take Honey and another waif in to foster. The dogs were spayed and the other little dog was placed, but the energetic Honey still waited. Christmas was apporoaching along with house guests and the foster mom had to call for help...Honey was TOO energetic!
So she moved to another foster space and spent a few
exuberant weeks racing around with her foster sister Rosie, wrestling
and playing all sorts of high-energy puppy games. But what Honey really
wanted for Christmas was a home of her own--and Rosie to move there with
her. Her wish came almost true, her home appeared just a few days after
Christmas, and, instead of Rosie, she now has 5 children to run and play
with. Finally, the right place for her to use some of that puppy
energy!
