PCAWL Rescue Stories: Button
Hi, it's me Button and do I have a story to tell.
Honestly, I am just thrilled to be here to get to tell
the story. Things are going so great now and I am so
very happy in my new forever home. You see wh
en I was
born, my front leg was deformed, in my original home,
nobody wanted me. I tried to make them see, I was just
as good as the other pupppies with four legs, but they
did not care. I was cast aside and made fun of and
then one very cold winter day, they threw me into the
river.
I would have drowned and died that day, but
happily that is not the end of my story. A concerned
bystander, pulled me from the icy waters and took me
to his house. He tried to help me, but he was gone all
the time and I was left unattended. He decided to
contact this rescue group, Phelps County Animal
Welfare League and they offered my a foster home.
Rolla Friends of the Animals paid for my surgery to be
spayed and
PCAWL gave me a temporary home. It was
there I stayed for a few months, getting ample love
and affection and all the things I needed to help me
find a new family. Finally someone appreciated this
three legged dog and could see, I could do all things
and was undeterred.
Then one day at this adoption
event a wonderful family stopped to visit with me, I
gave them my prettiest smile and the biggest wags of
my tail I could muster. We went for a walk and my eyes
pleaded, is this my new family? Then YEAH, I got the
news, I was headed to my new home. You cannot even
i
magine how happy I was to get this chance at a new
life. Now, my family, the Lee's who adopted me and
took me home to live with them forever, takes me on
tons of walks and showers
me with lots of love and
affection. Life has finally come full circle for me.
From cast away to cared for every day, my life is
finally what I always dreamed it could be. Special
thanks and lots of love to my new family the Lee's.
