PCAWL Rescue Stories: Bentley
Bentley, a very pretty, but severely malnourished Bull
Terrier needed some immediate attention and someone to
care enough to give this boy a chance. He was in very
poor shape and in no condition to be adopted when he
arrived at the local shelter. He had
sores all over
his body, his little ribs were sticking through, he
was so scared he often would not venture out of his dog
house. He appeared to be a puppy mill dog in
mannerisms and just did not know how to be a regular
dog.
Staff at the shelter called our group to see if we could help. We quickly networked this boy to find a placement with a breed specific rescue that knew alot about the breed to give him just what he needed. We landed a foster home for him with MABBR and he was able to be transported to Columbia by a PCAWL member to meet his new foster family who would lavish him with love and attention, and especially proper nutrition to get him fit and healthy and ready for his new family. The new Bentley became fit, learned to play with toys and to be a dog, something he probably never knew before he had been rescued.
