PCAWL Rescue Stories: Archie
Archie was born to a miniature poodle mom and probably a schnauzer dad. The breeder tried to sell the puppies, but to no avail, so Archie and one littermate ended up at the Shelter. Archie’s littermate was adopted right away, but for some reason
Archie wasn’t. A PCAWL volunteer fell for the shaggy little face and offered to foster the pup. He was a dirty and sad little fellow when he went to his first foster home, but he quickly cheered up and turned into a bouncing, naughty puppy who upset the entire household. After a couple of days he moved to his second foster home where he settled in happily and started harassing all the cats and dogs. He worked hard to convince his foster mom to keep him, he was cute and adorable and very naughty. He didn’t like it a bit when she chained him outside the door for a little while…that was no way to treat a little lovebug puppy! (she didn’t dare put him in the fenced yard because there had been parvo in there too recently for his safety).
Luckily, he very quickly caught Donna’s eye and she drove all the way from Illinois to meet him. The smart little boy
made a bee-line to Donna’s feet when they were introduced and foster mom was quickly convinced this was the home for Archie! Archie’s new mom will soon have him neutered and he will be her very own little lovebug forever after!
Archie is one of the lucky few. He’s found a wonderful home which provides him with appropriate medical care, plenty of good food and exercise and all the love in the world. He has a wading pool to play in when he can convince the duck to give him a turn, and he takes trips to Petsmart to pick out new toys. One might say, Archie is a spoiled little boy! We wish all the stories would have happily ever after endings like Archie’s, but sadly, they don’t. Always spay and neuter your pets Archie reminds us. There just aren’t homes for all the deserving little lovebugs.
