About Us

Who are we?We are your neighbors, your co-workers, and your fellow citizens who care deeply about the plight of animals in our community, particularly shelter animals. Some of us volunteer at the shelter. Others have rescued animals in the community or from the shelter. All of us look into our pets' eyes and feel compassion for those animals without a place to call home. We are also big dreamers, and working toward the goal of no-kill in Phelps County, in which no adoptable animal will have to be euthanized due to lack of an available home. With the invaluable help of volunteers and Friends, we will strive toward building a community where every dog and cat will have a home as a treasured pet.

We are a nonprofit organization whose goal is to promote and improve the welfare of animals in Phelps County, primarily through support of the animals at the Rolla Animal Shelter. We are not formally affiliated with the shelter, nor receive any funding whatsoever from the city.
